Extraction units need one thing above all else: lot-to-lot consistency. We hand-grade every root at our own Neemuch facility and weigh each consignment in front of the buyer, so your inputs don't vary batch to batch.
For Ashwagandha extraction, Gatta (thick whole root) suits buyers standardizing input before milling; Tukdi (broken/cut pieces) delivers equivalent material at a lower cost since extraction breaks roots down regardless; Tar (thin strands) suits processes already tuned for finer cuts. All three are hand-graded from the same Neemuch Mandi source, minimum order 50 kg.
Talk to any extraction unit's sourcing head and the same theme comes up: consistency matters more than any single spec sheet number. A withanolide extraction process calibrated for one root lot can under- or over-perform on the next lot if input quality drifts — which is why we hand-sort every root in-house rather than buying pre-graded stock from resellers, and weigh every consignment in front of the buyer or their transporter before it leaves Neemuch.
| Grade | Root form | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| Gatta | Thick, intact whole root | Processes that standardize input before their own milling step |
| Tukdi | Broken/cut pieces | Cost-sensitive extraction — same active-compound content as whole root at lower per-kg cost |
| Tar | Thin root strands | Processes already tuned for finer root cuts |
If your line needs powder rather than raw root, we also mill to order — see Ashwagandha Powder for mesh options.
